Schwarz Group joins Baden-Wuerttemberg’s Climate Alliance

During a celebratory event, the Schwarz Group officially signed the agreement to join Baden-Wuerttemberg’s Climate Alliance (Klimabündnis Baden-Württemberg) yesterday on Tuesday, 3 May 2022, in Stuttgart. In doing so, the corporate group promised to work together with the other members of the alliance and the Federal State of Baden-Wuerttemberg to achieve the political and corporate climate change targets. The members affirmed their commitment to supporting one another in this endeavor. As part of its group-wide environmental strategy, the Schwarz Group defined official climate change targets verified by the Science Based Targets initiative in 2021, which are based on the 1.5 °C target laid out in the Paris Agreement.

“Baden-Wuerttemberg is striving to achieve climate neutrality as early as 2040, five years earlier than the federal government in Germany. As one of Europe’s foremost economic regions, we aspire to play a leading role in environmental protection. In order to do this, we need strong alliances and strong partners. We are delighted to have the Schwarz Group on board as an environmentally aware company and one of the largest employers in the region,” highlighted Dr. Michael Münter, Director General at the Ministry for the Environment, Climate Protection and the Energy Sector Baden-Wuerttemberg, as he handed over the membership certificate.

“We are looking forward to being one of 32 companies in Baden-Wuerttemberg who are part of this Climate Alliance. Together with our strong partners, we are helping to promote cooperation across industries, provide new impetus in terms of sustainability, and actively advance the energy transition,” underscored Gerd Wolf, Head of Corporate Communications at the Schwarz Group.
