Latest figures for the Schwarz Group

The Schwarz Group was able to continue growing across all business segments in the 2021 fiscal year and, with around 550,000 employees, increasing its sales from EUR 125.3 billion in the previous year to a total of EUR 133.6 billion.

With more than 13,300 stores, the retail divisions Lidl and Kaufland demonstrated their high performance and agility even during challenging times: Kaufland stepped up its store sales by 7.4 percent to EUR 27.3 billion, while Lidl reported EUR 100.8 billion in sales, corresponding to a 4.7 percent increase. Total online sales came out at EUR 1.7 billion. Thanks to the acquisition of shares of Suez and Ferrovial, revenues in the PreZero environmental division climbed from EUR 0.7 billion to EUR 2.1 billion. 

Investments in fixed assets for the core business amounted to roughly EUR 8 billion and were dedicated primarily to expansion, shop modernization, and the digitalization of the corporate group.

The reporting date for the balance sheet is 28 February 2022. Group sales include all commercial revenue.
